10-Man Barcelona Thrashed Real Madrid to Lift Super Cup Trophy

Barcelona came from behind to deal with Real Madrid 5-2 in Spanish Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia. The game was filled with excitement as it started with Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe gave Madrid the lead. The French international scored a fantastic solo goal, running from the halfway line before slotting past Wojciech Szczesny.

Barca star Lamine Yamal leveled the scores in the 22nd minute of the game with an expert finish. Former Bayern and Dortmund Poland striker Lewandowski put Barca ahead with a penalty after Gavi was fouled, before a bullet header from Raphinha three minutes later made it 3-1.

The Brazilian winger then picked out Alex Balde to score a fourth in the 10th minute of added time in the first half. Barca scored the fifth goal three minutes after the start of the second half through Raphinha who grabbed his brace in the game.

Barcelona suffered one shortage when their goalkeeper Szczesny was sent off for a foul on Mbappe outside the box in the 56th minute of the game. Brazilian forward Rodrygo curled the resulting free-kick past keeper Inaki Pena to initiate a come back.

Their hope of come back was dashed as the game ended 5-2 to grab the trophy. It is the second time in two Clasicos under Flick that Barcelona have thrashed Real Madrid. The first one was 4-0 at the Bernabeu in La Liga back in October, and now 5-2.
