England Snatch Another Super Eagles Target

The Three Lions of England has once again snatch a Super Eagles target Dominic Solanke. The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been given a call ahead of the international game that is forth later this month.

He was named in Lee Carsley’s England squad for this month’s Nations League matches against Greece and Finland. It is the player’s first call-up since he earned his only cap, a substitute appearance against Brazil in 2017 when was playing for Liverpool.England head coach Carsley said: “He was really close to being in the last squad but got injured just before selection.”

The manager also said: “He did so well at Bournemouth and now he’s taken that form into Spurs. He’s got a lot of really good attributes that I really like.”Dominic Solanke is one player who the Nigerian Football Federation has kept an eye on for long now but the player is not willing to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria so it’s like a dream come through for him to be given an England call-up.

The former Bournemouth striker is lucky to have been called as many players who are regular picks were left out. The likes of Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, and Tottenham playmaker James Maddison were all left out. Also, Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze who was also a big target for the Super Eagles but opted to play for the Three Lions of England was left out this time after he was given his first call up in their country game few months ago.

Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham has been selected after missing September’s fixtures through injury. The manager made a strong start to his time as England interim manager after beating Finland and the Republic of Ireland in September in the Nations League.The Three Lions will host Greece at Wembley on the 10th of October before playing Finland in Helsinki on the 13th of October.
