Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has taken a stand against the allegations made by social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman.
Speaking on The Afro Beat Podcast, Falz expressed shock and dismay over claims that he had been involved in a homosexual relationship with crossdresser Bobrisky and that he and his father, Femi Falana, had manipulated justice.
Falz described the allegations as defamatory and utterly false, emphasizing, “These are horrible things to say. Absolutely no proof.” He made it clear that he would not tolerate baseless attacks on his character and reputation.
According to him, anyone who makes such claims must back them with evidence: “He who alleges must prove.”

Falz revealed that the situation escalated when Verydarkman accused both him and his father of collusion to pervert the course of justice. He addressed this during the podcast, noting that while he had previously seen some of Verydarkman’s activism regarding the sale of unregulated bleaching products, he was unaware of any further involvement until these accusations surfaced.
Taking legal action, Falz disclosed that he has filed a defamation suit against the influencer, citing damage to his reputation. While there were rumors about a court ruling for financial compensation, Falz clarified that the case is ongoing, but an interim ruling has instructed Verydarkman to take down the defamatory video.
“The ruling that the court gave was to take this down and desist from any further defamatory remarks pending the determination of this substantive suit,” Falz explained, adding that no settlement had been ordered yet.
Firm in his stance, Falz concluded that the allegations were not only damaging but also completely unsupported. With the defamation case still in progress, the artist is determined to see the issue resolved in court.
