Real Madrid showed their eagerness to still win the La Liga title as they beat Getafe 2-0 to close the gap with Barca. Goals for Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham ensured the host went back smiling. Jude Bellingham opened the scoring from a penalty spot with half an hour played.
The former Dortmund midfielder set up the second eight minutes after for Mbappe as they scored 2-0. The two goals were enough to give the host a comfortable victory as they look to reclaim the first place position from rivals Barcelona.
Getafe had their best chance when Nigerian star player Christantus Uche span away from Rudiger and fired a fierce effort against the post, with Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois beaten.
A thumping strike from another substitute, John Patrick, hit the crossbar and post but could not find the net.
But Carlo Ancelotti’s side could have been further ahead when Brahim Diaz controlled the ball with his chest and lobbed keeper David Soria but could only find the roof of the netw, hile Fede Valverde’s low shot from the edge of the area was pushed past the post.
