Ubi Franklin has addressed widespread speculation about his role in the management of Grammy-nominated artist Davido.
In response to persistent rumors labeling him as the personal assistant to Chioma Rowland, Davido’s wife, Franklin clarified his professional relationship with the singer via a tweet on X (formerly Twitter).
Franklin emphasized that his involvement with Davido is strictly professional, not personal. He credited Davido’s management team for their exceptional organizational skills and highlighted the scale of Davido’s influence, comparing it to a governor’s without the advantage of a government budget.
“If I was involved in Davido’s management, I would certainly have the qualifications and experience needed,” Franklin stated, countering claims that he serves in a personal capacity.
He underscored his leadership role as the founder of Mademen Music Group (MMG) and his background in business administration, which equips him for such engagements.
Franklin further announced the impending relaunch of MMG 2.0 early next year, signaling the incorporation of his extensive two-decade industry experience into the new venture. He dismissed rumors of being a personal assistant or nanny, urging critics to acknowledge his business expertise.
“Davido is Africa’s biggest artiste and the owner of DMW. It’s easy to judge from the outside, but his brand is one anyone would be honored to work with,” Franklin wrote.
He also highlighted his pride in Davido’s brand, describing it as a setup admired by industry professionals.
The forthcoming MMG 2.0 relaunch is expected to be a major industry event, driven by Franklin’s seasoned expertise and his vision for the future of African music management.
