Spotify’s 2024 Wrapped is here, celebrating the finest in Nigerian music, and Asake has emerged as the most-streamed artist in Nigeria.
This achievement underscores the ever-expanding influence of Nigerian music, as local artists continue to dominate the charts and captivate audiences worldwide.
Asake’s remarkable year was spearheaded by the release of his third album, Lungu Boy. The album set a new record on Spotify Nigeria, amassing 18 million streams in its first week alone.
Since his breakout in 2022, Asake has consistently delivered hit after hit, blending infectious rhythms with high-profile collaborations to cement his position at the top of the music industry.
His efforts in 2024 were unmatched, making him the #1 streamed artist on Spotify Nigeria.In second place is Seyi Vibez, who enjoyed another stellar year, featuring on his label Vibe INC’s compilation album while also releasing a successful solo project.
The rest of the top five includes global Afrobeat icons Burna Boy (3), Wizkid (4), and Rema (5), each of whom continues to dominate not only the Nigerian scene but also international music charts.Completing the top 10 are BNXN (6), ODUMODUBLVCK (7), Shallipopi (8), Davido (9), and Young Jonn (10).
The list is exclusively male, reflecting the overwhelming prominence of male talent in the industry this year.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Nigerian artists have monopolized Spotify’s top 10 list in the country, reaffirming Nigeria’s status as a global music powerhouse.
The dominance of Afrobeat and other homegrown genres continues to inspire and resonate with millions of listeners around the world, propelling Nigerian culture to new heights.
