Nollywood actor Tomiwa Tegbe set social media alight with his witty observation on the current trend of couples flaunting matching, colorful pyjamas during the holiday season.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he quipped, “So you and yours cannot iron your pyjamas?”—a playful jab that left netizens in splits and spurred a wave of humorous reactions.
The actor’s cheeky remark ignited a firestorm of commentary as users chimed in with their own takes.
One user, @NationalGridNg, humorously attributed the lack of ironing to power issues, stating, “Na national grid cause am… @NationalGridNg someone needs your attention.”
Others couldn’t help but see the humor in the scenario. @PrecySmart teased, “Singles are really pained this year,” while @sissiellama laughed it off with, “Jealousy… 😂😂😂😂😂 It’s called sharp sharp make I post.”

Meanwhile, @wanimi took a playful dig at Tegbe himself, writing, “Tomiwa, we still dey wait for your own matching pyjamas.”
Some came to Tegbe’s side, with @Lahly24 questioning the trend: “Don’t mind them…is to be snapping with red and green upandan 🙄🙄.”
However, others jokingly challenged him, asking, “Epain you?😭😭🤣” as @raytony001 cheekily noted, “Una dey vex for this app o.”
In a related twist, Tegbe commented on a Christmas photo shared by Egyptian football superstar Mohammed Salah. Salah posed with his family in festive pyjamas, prompting Tegbe to caption the image: “The only pyjamas picture I endorse, polling unit delivered like mad.”
Tegbe, best known for his roles in Nollywood films and the popular MTV series Shuga, has proven once again that he has a knack for sparking conversation, even with the simplest of topics.
While his commentary might have started with pyjamas, it certainly underscored his ability to mix humor with relatability, leaving fans and followers eagerly awaiting his next take.
As the matching pyjama trend continues to dominate holiday aesthetics, one question remains: ironed or not, is the debate truly about the fabric—or the festive spirit behind it?
