Former Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga scored the only goal for Nottingham Forest as they beat Tottenham. It was a narrow win which lift Nuno Espirito Santo’s men to the third place position on the league table.
Anthony Elanga struck for a third straight game as Nottingham Forest clinched a fourth successive win in the top flight for the first time since 1995. It is the manager’s first win over Tottenham.
Nuno was once a Tottenham manager but he only lasted four months with the club before he was sacked. Nottingham Forest have more points than during last season’s successful survival fight in half the games to underline the rapid progress made by Nuno who has restored his reputation.
He has the club in a strong position going into January’s transfer window. Elanga’s form means he will undoubtedly attract attention again with Newcastle long-term admirers.
Spurs continue to drift after a sixth defeat in 10 Premier League games and are 11 points behind Nottingham Forest.
