Nigerian music star Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has issued a fiery challenge to activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly called VeryDarkMan (VDM).
The controversy centers around VDM’s claim that hackers drained ₦180 million from his NGO’s funds, leaving only ₦20 million behind. Portable, famous for his bold personality, took to X (formerly Twitter) to vent his frustration, accusing VDM of mismanaging the funds.
Holding up a wrestling belt in a video, the singer called out the activist, labeling him a “thief” and demanding a public fight.
“If you don’t return the stolen NGO money, don’t step foot in Lagos or Abuja. We’ll fight you. A thief is a thief, and a friend of a thief is also a thief. Rich men contributed about ₦180 million for orphans, and you spent it!” Portable declared.
The singer’s tirade did not stop there. He accused VDM of exploiting Nigerians under the guise of charity, claiming the activist used the funds for personal indulgences.
“You say you’re fighting for Nigerians, but it’s for your personal gain. I’ve never received ₦100 million, yet I still distribute rice, noodles, and fix roads and streetlights in my area. But you spent the NGO money in clubs. Bad person!”
The allegations have set social media abuzz, with online users flooding the comment sections to express mixed reactions. While some applauded Portable for standing up against alleged corruption, others questioned his involvement in the issue.
The confrontation follows VDM’s disclosure of the alleged hacking incident, where he reported the loss of ₦180 million. Portable’s accusations have added fuel to the fire, deepening the divide between supporters of the two public figures.
As the drama unfolds, many are left wondering if the heated challenge will escalate further or lead to legal repercussions. For now, the public remains glued to their screens, eagerly awaiting the next chapter of this sensational saga.
