“I Regret Exhuming Mohbad’s Body” – Iyabo Ojo Opens Up

Actress Iyabo Ojo has expressed deep regret over her decision to advocate for the exhumation of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Iyabo Ojo described the fallout as disappointing and disheartening.

In a candid discussion with actress Biola Bayo on her podcast, Iyabo Ojo reflected on the controversy surrounding the case, admitting that she would have reconsidered her stance had she known the complications it would bring.

“I wouldn’t have requested that Mohbad be exhumed if I knew his case would turn out this way,” she revealed. “I just wanted Mohbad’s body exhumed so they could do the autopsy to find out the cause of his death.”

Mohbad, a rising star in Nigeria’s music industry, passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day.

Following public outcry and suspicion surrounding his untimely death, his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy as part of the investigation.

However, Iyabo Ojo, a prominent advocate for justice in the case, has voiced disappointment over how the investigation unfolded.

“I did my best to ensure that everyone was investigated,” she explained. “But when they came up with different theories, DNA became more important to them.”

The autopsy, which was meant to provide closure, instead sparked a series of controversies, with various parties introducing conflicting narratives that clouded the search for the truth.
