Super Eagles of Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom is on the verge of joining top Ligue 1 side Lille loan as the transfer window draws closer and closer to close. According to reports, Lille, have reached agreement with Eredivisie giants, Ajax for the Nigerian forward.

The Ligue 1 giants can also make the deal permanent in the summer for €12.5m,if the player impress them during his loan time.
It is also recorded that Les Dogues will cover Chuba Akpom’s full salary for the entire loan period. Also, Lille will sanction Mohamed Bayo’s loan to Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp upon the striker’s capture.
Akpom has struggled to secure playing berth at Ajax following the presence of forwards Brian Brobbey and Wout Weghorst. He joined the former European champions from Sky Bet Championship club Middlesbrough in 2023 but has since struggled with playing time.
