According to reports Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have opened talks with Sevilla to sign former Leicester City and Manchester City star Kelechi Iheanacho. Iheanacho is free to leave Sevilla this month after failing to establish himself at the club.
Celtic Open Talks with Kelechi Iheanacho
The 28-year-old Super Eagles of Nigeria star made the switch to the LaLiga club on a free transfer last summer. And since his arrival, he has failed to register a goal in nine league appearances for Garcia Pimienta’s side. Celtic are said to be pursuing a loan with option to buy in the summer with a £2m price tag.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers worked together during their time at Leicester City and it is believed the manager is trying to rekindle that bond. Kelechi Iheanacho is linked to Egyptian top side but it seems he is not looking at going there. It is also said that he has been linked with a number clubs in England and Europe.
