Football is Becoming Boring By the Day With New Rules

English FA is set to introduce a new offside technology in their in their next round of the competition. According to them it is semi-automated offside technology and it will be in English domestic football for the first time during the fifth round of the FA Cup.

English Football Association Introduced New Semi-automated offside Technology

The information was passed on the 13th of February 2025 On and it says the technology will be used in the seven games taking place at Premier League stadiums. English FA also said: “following successful live operation in the Emirates FA Cup, the Premier League will look to implement the system later this season.”

“Semi-Automated Offside Technology will provide more efficient placement of the virtual offside line, based on optical player tracking, and produce virtual graphics to ensure an enhanced in-stadium and broadcast experience for supporters.”

“The operation of Semi-Automated Offside Technology does not change the accuracy of the decision making but enhances the speed and efficiency of the process.” All English Premier League clubs have approved its use for the 2024-2025 season in April, with a planned introduction date of October 2024. It was however delayed to allow for further testing of the technology.

UEFA introduced semi-automated offside technology in the Champions League at the start of the 2022-2023 campaign. While clubs are in supports, fans and some players are saying football is gradually becoming boring because of too many rules.

The rules in the game is now making it very hard for the players and fans. First it was VAR and we have seen that nit all occurrences is the VAR correct. We have witness referees and VAR go against each other and any say some of this mistakes in football are part of the fun part of football.
