Nigerian singer Orezi has sparked conversations about relationships and unfulfilled promises, revealing that he once promised a lady a house but never followed through.
He made this disclosure during an interview with Echo Room while reacting to the ongoing controversy surrounding Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy and socialite Sophia Egbueje over an alleged Lamborghini gift.
Orezi, known for his hit songs and vibrant personality, stated that it is normal for men to break promises to women, as women also fail to uphold their commitments in relationships.
“I’m not part of the Lamborghini boys. I have never promised a woman anything as outrageous as N300 million. Am I crazy?” he quipped.
Reflecting on his past, he admitted, “I once promised a lady a house, but I didn’t deliver. Why would I buy her a house? For what? Women also make promises to stay faithful to their partners, but many don’t keep them. So, let every gender keep promising. It’s a dog-eat-dog world.”
His comments have stirred mixed reactions, with some agreeing that both men and women fail to keep their word, while others argue that making grand promises without intending to fulfill them is misleading.
Esegine Allen, popularly known as Orezi, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who gained fame with hit songs like Rihanna, Shoki, and You Garrit. His music blends Afrobeat, dancehall, and pop influences, making him a notable figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
