Nollywood actress and activist, Iyabo Ojo, has reacted to a disturbing wave of threats and accusations.
These include viral videos showing angry men wishing her death and accusing her of obstructing the justice campaign for late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The videos, which have been widely circulated online, show groups of men parading through the streets of Lagos with placards and a printed image of Iyabo Ojo alongside Mohbad. In these clips, they accuse the actress of meddling in the “Justice for Mohbad” movement, alleging that her actions have derailed the case.
One of the protesters, believed to be the ringleader, referenced the recent fire incident at her office, warning that it was just the beginning and threatening further attacks on her and her family.
In a detailed statement posted on her Instagram page, Iyabo Ojo explained her role in the campaign and dismissed the claims being made against her. She revealed that she had been invited by the Nigeria Police Force’s National Cybercrime Centre over petitions alleging cyberbullying and defamation tied to a past video she made during the heat of Mohbad’s death.
“For public records,” she wrote, “I never accused anyone of being responsible for Mohbad’s death. I merely requested that certain individuals present themselves for investigation to clear their names.”

According to her, she took steps through her foundation, Pinkies Foundation, to ensure proper investigation into the singer’s death, including writing to the Lagos State Governor, the Attorney General, and top police authorities.
She emphasized that her actions have always been within legal bounds and rooted in advocacy for justice.“I, alongside other social advocates, met with relevant authorities, including the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and members of the House of Assembly, to demand a thorough investigation,” she stated.
Ojo said she has been under attack ever since—facing online abuse, death wishes, and real-life threats. She disclosed that a letter threatening her life was sent to her office shortly before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, warning that she would “go through hell” within three months.
She also noted that political differences during the 2023 elections may have made her a target for sustained attacks. The actress described the psychological and physical toll the threats have taken on her, especially after her office was gutted by fire days ago.
“It is only humane to allow me emotional space to tend to my health and wellbeing,” she pleaded. Despite everything, she vowed to continue honoring police invitations and cooperating with authorities.
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them from them all,” she quoted from scripture, affirming her faith in divine justice.
“I trust that God will ultimately give me victory over adversity,” she concluded, thanking friends, supporters, and security agencies for standing by her in these trying times.
The protests and online hostility have raised concerns about the safety of activists and public figures advocating for justice, with many urging law enforcement to step in and ensure Iyabo Ojo’s safety.
