Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has opened up about her decision to keep her marriage away from the public spotlight.
She clarified that while her husband is not a secret, they simply prefer a private life.
In a recent episode of the Dear Ife series hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, the mother of two explained that keeping her marriage private has been a deliberate and beneficial choice.

“I think it was the best decision I ever made because it has helped me stay grounded. It has helped me define my relationship. I don’t have external factors deciding how I deal or relate with my spouse,” she said.

According to Kadiri, the lack of public scrutiny on her husband has also allowed him to live freely and without pressure.“People do not know him, so there is no pressure on his end,” she noted.
Addressing widespread assumptions that she is hiding her partner, Kadiri firmly set the record straight.
“My husband is not a secret. My life is not as private as people think. People who know me know him. That’s enough. I’m not hiding my husband. We go to church together, attend events, and some of his pictures have been posted. Most events I organize, he is there.”
She went on to describe her husband’s preference for a quiet life, noting his minimal social media activity.
“Check his social media page—he posts only the word of God, not even his pictures. He is private,” she added.
Kadiri also spoke about the pressures that come with celebrity marriages, acknowledging that fame often adds strain to personal relationships. She expressed gratitude for maintaining control over this one part of her life.
“Marital pressures as celebrities is also something we don’t talk about a lot. Seeing that my career is thriving at this point, I keep telling myself thank God there’s an aspect of me that I can stand on and control.”
Through her candid revelations, Ruth Kadiri emphasizes that privacy isn’t secrecy—it’s a choice to protect what matters most from unnecessary intrusion.
