Popular Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has sent social media buzzing after sharing a throwback photo that captured the humble beginnings of his journey to fame.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the “Party No Dey Stop” crooner posted a photo taken in 2005—20 years ago—showing him seated beside a kiosk opposite Lagos State Polytechnic (Laspotech).
In the image, a younger Adekunle is seen leaning against the wooden frame of the kiosk, appearing to be asleep.

The stark contrast between the Adekunle Gold in the photo and the successful artist he is today left many Nigerians amazed.
Fans were quick to reflect on his journey from grassroots hustle to becoming one of Nigeria’s most celebrated musicians and the husband of fellow singer, Simi.
While some users initially doubted the authenticity of the image, many others confirmed it was indeed Adekunle and praised his resilience and growth.
