Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has opened up on his team’s 4-0 home loss to Barcelona over the weekend. The Italian tactician said he is unmoved by the reports that it was his game plan that led to the loss. It was the first El Clasico encounter in 2024 and it ended in favour of Barcelona.

Robert Lewandowski scored goals in three minutes before Lamine Yamal and Raphinha rounded up the scoring to make it 4-0. The win put Barcelona six points clear above the La liga reigning champions in the league table.
Speaking about loss the manager said: “I do not regret my game plan,” said Ancelotti in his post-match press conference.” “I have been in football 48 years, so I’m not wrong when I tell you that the first-half was good.”
The manager also said: “It’s different from the loss against Lille. We were very bad that day. We competed today (Saturday).” “We have to learn from this. Self-criticism is fundamental. But we don’t throw everything in the bin.” “Last time we lost 4-0 to Barcelona, we won La Liga and the Champions League. We fight on.”
Barcelona head coach on the hand Hansi Flick said his team’s victory was dedicated to their fans. It was their first win at the Bernabeu since March 2022. Flick has now recorded ten wins and one loss in his eleven games as the coach of Barca.
