It is big trouble for Manchester City as one of their key defender has suffered an injury. Nathan Ake who has been key in the City defense has been sidelined after undergoing surgery on a fractured foot. The Netherlands defender, 30, came off at half-time in Saturday’s FA Cup win over Plymouth.
Before the game, Ake had said he had been nursing that injury for sometime now before the game. Ake had an operation on Monday and, afterwards, posted a picture of himself on social media.

Speaking about the injury he said: “This has been such a frustrating season for me but I have now had a successful surgery on a fracture in my foot, which has been bothering me for months.”
The former Bournemouth defender also said: “I am looking positively to the future. Rest and recover now, see you soon Cityzens and thank you for your support.” He has been restricted to 18 appearances so far this season due to a succession of short-term injuries.
Fellow defenders John Stones and Manuel Akanji also missed Saturday’s fifth-round win over Plymouth through injury.
