Arsenal suffered their first lost in the 2024/25 season as Bournemouth ended their unbeaten start to the season. The game was going well until defender William Saliba was shown the first red card of his career at Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth Ends Arsenal Unbeaten Run

The France international was dismissed inside the opening half an hour, after he tripped Evanilson close to the centre circle after he put under unnecessary pressure by Leandro Trossard’s poor pass. The game became very difficult for the gunners after the card. Mikel Arteta the head coach of Arsenal has come out to the player to blame for their lose.

Arteta said the player to blame for their lose is Saliba but Trossard and this is because of the poor pass the player gave. This is the third card Arsenal is receiving since the start of the season. The home team Bournemouth took advantage of the situation and got all three point.

They ended the first half on a goalless draw but in the second half things turned around. Ryan Christie fired brilliantly in to the top corner following a clever corner routine then with 20 minutes remaining, substitute Justin Kluivert flicking on Lewis Cook’s low pass into the penalty area.

Kluivert converted a penalty nine minutes later, after club record £40m summer signing Evanilson was brought down by David Raya. It was joyous moment for Bournemouth as the win ended their last four loses they have had this season.

Saliba’s red card is a big problem for the club now as manager Arteta is left with no center back again and they have Liverpool to play next week.
