Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has taken a swipe at the country’s lawmakers for what he describes as misplaced priorities following a deadly massacre in Benue State.
Over the weekend, reports emerged that about 200 people were killed by suspected herdsmen in Yelwata, Benue State, yet there has been no official reaction or emergency meeting by the National Assembly.
Reacting to the silence, Bobrisky took to his Instagram stories to criticize the Nigerian political class, especially the Senate and House of Representatives. He compared their lack of urgency over the killings to how quickly they mobilized last year over the controversy surrounding his imprisonment.
He wrote: “Senator/house representative didn’t call urgent meeting over the killing happening in Benue.. but they can call urgent meeting when it comes to Bobrisky. Shame!!!! Shame!!!! Shame!!!”
He further expressed his disappointment, adding: “What a shameful country.”

Bobrisky’s statement refers to the attention his own case received in 2024 when he was sentenced for mutilating the Nigerian currency (naira abuse). During that time, reports surfaced claiming he was not kept in a regular prison cell—an issue that led to an urgent meeting by some lawmakers.
Now, with a humanitarian crisis unfolding in Benue and no similar urgency from the same officials, Bobrisky believes the political elite are failing the people they are meant to protect.
His comments have sparked reactions on social media, with many Nigerians echoing his sentiment and calling for more accountability from those in power.
While the nation mourns another mass killing, the silence from key lawmakers continues to fuel public outrage and calls for justice.
