Veteran Nollywood actress, Bukky Wright, has revealed that despite having gone through five failed marriages, she remains open to the idea of getting married again—if it is destined by God.
The 58-year-old actress shared her thoughts in a recent interview with BBC Yoruba, where she candidly discussed her personal life, experiences abroad, and return to the film industry.
Speaking about her view on marriage, Wright said, “On the issue of marriage, I’m still very much interested but that is if God has destined it. It is not a must. I am not saying other women should not try to get married because as for me, I am still interested in getting married.”
She added that her desire for love and companionship is something she has even taken to God in prayer.
“In fact, to show how much I am interested, when I went to Al Kaaba I told God and I know He is a God that answers prayers,” she said.

Bukky Wright’s marital journey has been widely discussed over the years. She was first married to Gboyega Amu, the father of her two sons. After their separation due to irreconcilable differences, she went on to marry actor and politician Rotimi Makinde.
Her third marriage was to society journalist Femi Davies, with the wedding taking place at the Akoka Registry in Lagos. She later tied the knot with music promoter Bolaji Saheed, followed by her fifth marriage to U.S.-based businessman Adewale Onitiri in 2010.
That union has also ended in divorce. Despite the multiple setbacks, Bukky Wright says her belief in love and companionship remains unshaken.
“I pray for another chance, but it’s ultimately up to God,” she said.Wright’s openness to love again has sparked reactions online, with many commending her honesty and resilience.
