Chelsea Set to Sign their Ex-defender

Chelsea have decided to resign their defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The London club is hoping to bring the player back to Stamford Bridge following his great improvement since he left.

The Blues are understood to have the 24-year-old on a list of defensive they intend to sign after selling him in 2021. Crystal Palace signed the player after Chelsea were taken over by current owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Crystal Palace have yet to receive official contact from Chelsea but Guehi’s representatives are aware. Guehi has 18 months left on his contract, having signed a five-year deal when joined Crystal Palace.

The interest highlights Chelsea’s broader efforts to sign a central defender in January or the summer transfer window. They recently lost Wesley Fofana to a substantial hamstring injury, which according to manager Enzo Maresca the player is out of season.

Also,Benoit Badiashile is also out until at least February, they are now forced to for defender and Guehi is the player they want. One big question now is will Crystal Palace let him go because they had turned down a £65m deal from Newcastle United.

Can Chelsea offer higher than £65m for the defender knowing they sold him for only £18m.
