Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has announced the release of his highly anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive, slated to drop in 2025.
Known for his energetic sound and chart-topping hits, Davido promises that this album will deliver something extraordinary.
In a video shared from his private jet alongside his wife, Chioma, the singer exuded excitement about the forthcoming project. “In 2025, my fifth album is going to be amazing. It’s gonna change everybody’s lives,” he declared confidently.
5ive: Davido’s Most Personal Work Yet
On December 5, 2024, Davido took to Instagram to unveil the album title and share his vision for 5ive. “This one is straight from the heart – my story, my truth, my growth,” he wrote.
The rollout began with the release of the lead single, “Funds,” featuring Odumodublvck and Chike. The track, which samples Brenda Fassie’s iconic 1997 hit “Vuli Ndlela,” combines a nostalgic vibe with Davido’s signature Afrobeats style.
“This one’s for the dreamers, the go-getters, and everyone chasing what’s theirs!” Davido shared enthusiastically.
Revisiting Davido’s Discography
Davido’s announcement has fans reflecting on his remarkable journey in the music industry. His discography so far includes four successful albums:
Omo Baba Olowo (2012) – This debut album introduced Davido as a force in Afrobeats, featuring hits like “Dami Duro” and “Back When.”
A Good Time (2019) – A blend of global sounds and hits like “Fall” and “If,” this album solidified Davido’s international acclaim.
A Better Time (2020) – Packed with collaborations, including tracks with Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown, the album showcased Davido’s versatility.
Timeless (2023) – Aptly named, this album celebrated Davido’s resilience and artistry, featuring hits such as “Champion Sound.”
With 5ive, Davido aims to continue his legacy, offering fans an intimate glimpse into his growth as an artist and a person.
