Nigerian-American music superstar, Davido responds as interviewer asks him about his relationship with Wizkid.
OBO as he is fondly called was recently featured in the latest episode of the Breakfast Club, where he was asked questions on various facets of his life and work.
During the interview, one of the hosts had asked him about his relationship with Wizkid. He pointedly asked whether he loves his colleague, Wizkid.
Bursting into laughter, he noted that loves everyone he knows. Additionally, Davido noted that he isn’t a rebel like Burna Boy nor does he have the air of mystery that Wizkid does.
Davido emphasized that he is just himself and doesn’t need to be like anyone else.
He said in part …“I love everyone, man.
“I’m not a rebel like Burna Boy or mystical like Wizkid“
I’m just me. People know me as the outgoing, free guy. I’m not a rebel like Burna Boy or mystical like Wizkid, I can’t act that way,” he added.
“Some people tell me I’m too free, don’t I know I’m a superstar. I’ll be like if my dad walks pass you right now, you wouldn’t know so that’s how I grew up.“
My manager gets mad at me for wearing slippers in the house. There are people born artistes, who comes out of their room looking good.”
Wizkid and Davido are two of the most prominent and successful Nigerian musicians, known for their Afrobeats music and a history of both collaboration and a public feud, which has seen periods of reconciliation and renewed tension.
