In a candid interview on the show “Talk to B” hosted by Biola Bayo, Nollywood actress Doris Simeon recounted the emotional and ongoing custody struggle with her ex-husband, Daniel Ademinokan.

She revealed that Daniel took their son to the United States without her consent when he was just four years old, a decision that left her feeling devastated.

Simeon explained that the last time she played an active role as a mother to her son was when he was three years old. Since then, communication with her son has been challenging.

According to her, Daniel often ignored her calls, or when he did answer, he would claim he was busy, leaving her without contact for months at a time.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Simeon shared the emotional toll it took on her, though she kept her struggles private. “I was frustrated and depressed, but I can never show that,” she admitted, adding that her family’s values of resilience helped her stay strong despite the difficulties.

Simeon acknowledged both her and Daniel’s faults in their past relationship, but emphasized her pain over not being able to fulfill her role as a mother. “That’s the only painful part,” she said. “He didn’t allow me to mother my child.”

The custody battle eventually escalated to court proceedings after a chance encounter at a movie premiere, where Simeon was questioned about not visiting her son.

The situation, which has spanned years, continues to affect her deeply as she reflects on the missed moments of her son’s upbringing. Despite the challenges, Simeon remains hopeful for a resolution that allows her to reconnect with her son.
