Ekong Narrates How Super Eagles Plane was Diverted in Libya

The skipper of the Super Eagles of Nigeria William Trost Ekong has opened up on the mean and harsh way the Libyan people have treated them. The Super Eagles of Nigeria was to play the return leg of the AFCON qualifier game against Libya after winning at home in the first leg.

Super Eagles Captain Ekong Laments the Evil Done to them in Libya

According to reports from the captain, he said their plan was diverted and upon landing they were taken to an empty airport. Ekong speaking through his Instagram account said the treatment is very bad and is not acceptable.

Ekong narrated how they were not allowed to leave the airport. He said even their pilot who was allowed out they did allowed him because he is not Nigerian. The player said they told the pilot that the only hotel available will take only him while he players will have to remain in the airport.

He also said the diversion of their plane when they were landing was an instruction from the government which is wrong. The former Watford defender tagged CAF asking them to do something fast about it.

William Trost Ekong has however said the players spirit is high for the game tomorrow but things are not supposed to be like this. Many have said the Libyan people are trying to frustrate the Nigerian players so that they won’t be able to play well. Remember the Super Eagles of are already leading the group after winning two matches and drawing one.

They beat Libya in the Godswill Akpabio National stadium last week 1-0 thanks to goals from Lazio star Bashiru. While we wait for both the Nigerian Football Federation and CAF to react on this matter fans has been throwing their support to the players. The fans are saying the players should pay the Libyan team back in the field by beating very well.
