Erik ten Hag Opens up About Rumours of his Sack

Following the sack rumours of the head coach Manchester United Erik ten Hag, the Dutch nationale has come out to clear the air saying he has nothing “to panic about” after a poor start to the 2024/24 season. It was gathered that despite the rumors of his sack the former Ajax manager is focused on the next United games which are against FC Porto and Aston Villa. The Manchester side lost woefully on Sunday to Tottenham in Old Trafford leaving them in 13th on the Premier League table, Ten Hag is however very confident that the season will end in his favour.

Erik ten Hag Not Moved About his Sack Rumours

Speaking to news men, he said: “Nothing is easy, but this is nothing for me to panic about.” “We can sort [the problems] out, this team can sort this out.” Manchester United have won just three of their nine fixtures across all competitions this season, beating Fulham 1-0 in the first game of the season, Southampton in the league and League One Barnsley in the EFL Cup.

Erik Ten Hag led the Red Devils to a third place in the Premier League during his maiden campaign in 2022-23 season while they won the EFL Cup and were runners-up in the FA Cup. Last season, they ended the term eighth – their lowest-ever Premier League finish – but signed off in style after beating Manchester City to win the FA Cup and get an automatic Europa League qualification.

The Dutchman was subsequently rewarded with a new contract, which runs until 2026, over the summer and last month club chief executive Omar Berrada said he had the club’s full backing. Speaking about the backing of the club owners, Ten hag said: “We created a togetherness in the summer with the ownership and the leadership.” “We made this agreement, and we were all behind it. We know the strategy [is to bring in] young players in a transition period.”

The manager also said: “They also know in May in all my last six seasons there were always trophies and that is what we are aiming for.” Manchester United will travel to Portugal to face Porto in the Europa League on Thursday and travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday, before the October international break.
