Former Real Madrid and PSG star player Sergio Ramos who now plays for Monterrey has been fined by the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol for criticizing referee Luis Fernando Santander. It was said that Ramos was hit with a financial penalty for his controversial remarks against the referee following Monterrey’s 1-0 win over Santos Laguna.

Ramos is not only known for his defensive prowess, he has also made an impact in attack, including the two goals that were controversially disallowed. He posted saying: “What a shameful foul he called. Then I get wrestled in corners and they say it’s just part of the game… Today’s call was a joke. This only happens here in this league.”
Monterrey will now focus on Sunday’s clash against Xolos in Tijuana. Domenec Torrent’s side sits second in Liga MX with 25 points.
