Fifpro men’s World XI for 2024 was released earlier today and surprisingly four Manchester City players made the list. The whole team has five English Premier League players while the rest are Real Madrid players.
Liverpool and Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk is the fifth Premier League player in the team. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were not on the list again for the second time since 2006.
The 2024 forward line is made up of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe. Also, Jude Bellingham made the list as he received 11,176 selections from his peers.
Bellingham, Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, Vinicius Jr and Toni Kroos helped all Real Madrid win last season’s La Liga and Champions League, with Kroos retiring after playing for Germany at Euro 2024.
Erling Haaland, Ederson, Kevin de Bruyne and Rodri were the players selected from Manchester City. More than 28,000 professional footballers from 70 countries voted for the men’s and women’s teams, with the men’s team based on performances from August 2023 to July 2024.
Who is in the men’s World XI
Desipite the poor performance of Kylian Mbappe in Real Madrid now, the player was included in the list. It is said that the player was selected based on his performances for France and Paris St-Germain in 2023-24, before joining Real Madrid in the summer.
