Manchester City returned to winning ways as Erling Haaland scored twice in their 4-1 win over West Ham United. The goals are the striker’s first Premier League goals for the first time in over three months.
Savinho who can be said to be City’s best player in the game opened the scoring. The Brazilian opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes of play with a left-wing cross that deflected off Vladimir Coufal and left Areola stranded. Haaland then doubled the lead with a header
The former Dortmund man soon made it 3-0 in the 55th minute of the game. Phil Foden scored three minutes after the goal to make it 4-0. West Ham did pull one back when Niclas Fullkrug turned home skipper Tomas Soucek’s cross but it was only a consolation goal.
It was the first time Manchester City have won successive games since October. Remember Pep Guardiola earlier said if the fans wants to blame anybody for their poor form they should blame him. It is expected that as he takes the blame he will also take the praises now.
