How Jarrod Bowen’s Header Decided Arsenal’s Fate

Arsenal suffered a home defeat to their London neighbors West Ham United. The loss deprive them of closing on on Liverpool. West Ham United ended their four-match winless run with a stunning victory at Emirates Stadium. England forward Jarrod Bowen got the winner as 10-Man Arsenal suffer the loss.

Myles Lewis-Skelly was sent off in the second half of the game leaving them with just ten men for the remaining 20 minutes. Victory for the Gunners would have moved them to five points closer to Liverpool.

Sadly this loss now will give Liverpool a more reason to do well against City to increase the points. Jarrod Bowen started and finished the move that led to the goal. He collected a loose ball on the edge of his own box and found Wan-Bissaka. Aaron Wan-Bissaka then crossed a low ball to him, he then stooped low to nod the ball in.

The goal was the player’s 50th Premier League goal. It was the first time Arsenal had lost in a home Premier league game at half-time this season. Many will argue that the red was what made Arsenal lose as they had to battle injury and also a red card.

Remember most of their players are nursing one injury or the other then came the red card. Referee Craig Pawson initially cautioned the 18-year-old after he dragged Kudus to the floor. It was however checked, after VAR check.

After the check the yellow card was then upgraded to to a red because the player denied Kudus a goalscoring chance. West Ham United held on comfortably in the end to move 13 points clear of the bottom three and level with Manchester United who drew with Everton.
