Veteran Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, popularly known as Omosexy, has expressed deep gratitude to God following a recent health crisis that nearly claimed her life.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the celebrated actress shared details of her ordeal, revealing how a sudden bout of severe back and chest pain, relentless vomiting, and crippling stomach discomfort led to an emergency surgical intervention.
Omotola recounted the harrowing experience, describing it as one of the most challenging periods of her life.
Despite the severity of her condition, she emphasized her gratitude for being alive, crediting divine intervention for her recovery.
“It was touch and go for a while,” she wrote, thanking her family, medical team, and fans for their prayers and support.
The news of her health scare has drawn an outpouring of love from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry, many of whom took to social media to send their well-wishes and prayers.
Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is a household name in Nigeria and across Africa, with a career spanning over two decades. She made her acting debut in 1995 with the film Venom of Justice and quickly rose to prominence with standout roles in Mortal Inheritance and Blood Sisters.
Known for her versatility and on-screen charisma, she has appeared in over 300 films, earning numerous accolades, including the prestigious African Movie Academy Award (AMAA).
Beyond acting, Omotola is also a philanthropist and activist. She launched the Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme (OYEP) and has been a vocal advocate for maternal health and women’s rights.
In 2013, she was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world, further cementing her status as a global icon.
Omotola is married to pilot, Captain Ekeinde and their union is blessed with children.
