Hollywood legendary actor and model, Djimon Hounsou has claimed that he is underpaid and struggling financially despite being in the film industry for over two decades.
Hounsou made the claims during a recent interview with Larry Madowo on CNN. After about 30 years in the movie industry, the actor made it known that he’s still struggling financially.
“I’ve been in this business for over two decades and with two Oscar nominations, many big blockbuster films and yet I’m still struggling financially to make a living” the actor said.
He gave the reason for this when he mentioned, “I’m definitely underpaid”.

Hounsou revealed he was dropped from the globe awards to the Oscars award, citing systemic racism as the cause.
“Systemic racism don’t change anytime soon. Systemic racism is not what you can deal with lightly. You have to cope with it and survive the best way you can” he concluded.
Djimon Hounsou is an household name in the American movie industry. The Beninoise has featured in top Hollywood movies such as “Blood Diamond”, “Gladiator”, “I Never Walk Away”, and many more.
The screen star is also a global name in the world of fashion having walked the runway severally for top fashion brands.
