Veteran Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has made a heartfelt plea for financial assistance, revealing her struggles to make ends meet.
In an emotional Instagram video, the once-thriving movie star expressed exhaustion and desperation, leaving fans and colleagues in shock.
“Help me. I’m tired of begging. Please tag Kogi state government. HE @alhajiahmedusmanododo. HE @officialgybkogi. Senator @natashaakpoti,” she wrote, urging authorities and well-wishers to come to her aid.
In a desperate bid for support, Abubakar also shared her account details, calling on Nigerians for financial assistance. Her plea has since sparked an outpouring of support, with many offering words of encouragement and financial aid.
Holding onto hope for better days, she added: “You know best. My tears and pain won’t go in vain. Amen. Two things I know for sure: Prayers work, and tables eventually turn.”
Halima Abubakar is a renowned Nigerian actress and movie producer, known for her versatility in the Nollywood industry. She gained fame in the early 2000s, starring in several hit films, including Tears of a Child, Secret Shadows, Men in Love, and Gangster Paradise.
A native of Kogi State, she began her career with minor roles before landing her breakthrough performance in Sabotage, a film that cemented her place in Nollywood.
Over the years, she became known for her strong screen presence and ability to portray complex characters, earning several awards and nominations.
Beyond acting, Abubakar has been involved in philanthropy through the Halima Abubakar Foundation, which focuses on supporting women and children. However, she has also faced personal and health challenges, including a prolonged battle with illness that led to a hiatus from the film industry.
