Javier Mascherano Named Inter Miami New Head Coach

Following the stepping down of Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino as Inter Miami head coach, the club has named ex Argentine star Javier Mascherano as the new coach. The former Barcelona and Liverpool manager was formerly managing the Argentine U20 team before his appointment.

The Barcelona legend signed a long-term contract with the club according to reports. It is also gathered that Mascherano was the manager who took Argentina to the 2024 Paris Olympics and they reached the quarterfinal.

This appointment means they are now five former Barcelona players in the club. Javier Mascherano who played 414 matches with Lionel Messi will now unite with Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets.

Mascherano won five La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues with Barcelona. The former defensive midfielder will now help rebuild the team’s defense and take away the over reliant on playing a high line.
