Kanye West, the ever-evolving rapper and fashion mogul, has legally changed his name once again — this time to “Ye Ye.”
Just four years after he dropped “Kanye Omari West” for the simpler “Ye,” he’s made another switch. According to new business documents filed in California and obtained by Page Six, West’s new legal name is now “Ye Ye.”
The name change was confirmed through filings made by his chief financial officer, Hussain Lalani. “Ye Ye” is now listed as the official “manager or member name” across several of West’s companies, including Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label LLC, and Getting Out Our Dreams Inc. — an umbrella for many of his creative ventures.
Interestingly, prior to this update, some of West’s filings had already used “Ye West” as an intermediary title, signaling a gradual shift toward the new identity.

This is not the first time the artist has shaken up public perception through a name change. In 2021, he legally became “Ye,” a nickname he had long used and once described as “the most commonly used word in the Bible.”
His penchant for reinvention has been a consistent theme throughout his career.
Kanye West began his career as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records, where he gained recognition for his work on Jay-Z’s The Blueprint in 2001. He later transitioned into a solo rap career, releasing his critically acclaimed debut album The College Dropout in 2004.
West is known for pushing the boundaries of hip-hop and popular music. From the orchestral touches of Late Registration to the genre-bending 808s & Heartbreak, and the maximalist production of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, he has consistently evolved his sound.
His tenth studio album, Donda, released in 2021, showcased his continued artistic ambition.
Despite controversies, West remains one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 160 million records sold worldwide and 24 Grammy Awards to his name.
