Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Kizz Daniel, has announced a pause in his music recording career to focus on spending quality time with his family.
The revelation has stirred emotions across the music scene, with fans applauding the artist’s decision to prioritize personal life over professional demands.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) page, the “Buga” hitmaker, born Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, shared a heartfelt post that shed light on his motivation.
“No more recording for me…. Just enjoying life like it should be…. My family don diss me say I choose studio over them, I’m changing,” he wrote, candidly expressing a shift in his priorities after years of relentless music-making.
The announcement follows the release of his latest body of work, the “Lemon Chase EP,” which features fan-favorite tracks such as “Black Girl Magic,” “Titi” featuring Fola, and “Al-Jannah” with Bella Shmurda and ODUMODUBLVCK.
While fans are still absorbing the energy of this EP, Kizz Daniel had already begun teasing a follow-up titled “Orange Chase,” signaling more collaborations to come.
Despite the break from the studio, the singer has not ruled out delivering fresh music. He revealed he has an archive of over 600 unreleased songs, suggesting that his fans won’t be left without content.
“I’ll dish out [songs] before I hang boot,” he shared, hinting at a long-term plan to gradually release his existing catalogue rather than record new material.
This development has sparked a wide range of reactions online. While some fans expressed sadness over the pause in new music production, others lauded his decision, calling it a mature and necessary move.
