Manchester United suffered a shocking defeat last night and many are calling for the head for the coach Ruben Amorim. It was horrible night for both the players and the fans including the coach. The defeat came from a fourth tier devision League 2 side Grimsby.
They travelled to Grimsby to kick start the 2025/26 Carabao Cup. It is the first time in a long time that Manchester United is facing this side and they lost.

The game started in a very wrong as they were already two goals down in the first half of the game. It took the expertise of Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire to bring them a draw in the 90 minute.
After 90 minutes of 2-2 draw they headed into penalties. It was a long penalty shootout. They played a total of 12 penalties, the first four players for Manchester United scored their penalties but Cunha failed to convert his as they headed into more penalties.

Bryan Mbeumo who scored his penalty but filled to covert his second as the game ended 12-11. Speaking about the loss, the head coach Ruben Amorim said, the players has shown that they want more than what they are seeing.
The coach said he is sorry for the fans as the result did not show what the players wanted.
They are now out of the Carabao cup they will welcome Burnley in the English Premier League with the hope of bouncing back.
