Arsenal suffer their first loss in the ongoing 2025/2026 season to hands of defending champions Liverpool.
The game started with Arsenal looking hot to take the day but a sad incident happened as their star Saliba suffered an injury. The French foot is was subbed off few minutes after the game started.
They however still kept the pressure. Arsenal held the the home team Liverpool through out the first half.
Liverpool came in to the second half firing hot, they took over the midfield from the visitors and forced the manager to make substitutions.
Eberechi Eze and Odegard were brought into the game but few minutes later Liverpool had a free kick which was beautifully converted by Szoboszlai. The one goal was enough to see Liverpool took the lead.
Speaking about the match Liverpool manager Arne Slot said: “If you win against a team like Arsenal, who last season were such a good team and have strengthened so much, to win against them is very positive. We will know at the end of the season what it’s worth.”
And for the goal scorer Dominik Szoboszlai, the player said: “Again. I’m only working with him now for a little more over a season but he shows what Liverpool is all about.
If he has to play right wing, right full-back, as a 10, he gives his best. Again he was outstanding today.”Liverpool remain the only team in the league that is yet to drop or loose a point in the league.
It’s been three on three for the defending champions. They have won their first three games and have now returned to the top of the table with nine points.
