Mercy Aigbe Reacts to “Dense” Husband Critics

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe Adeoti has dismissed the negative remarks surrounding her marriage to movie marketer Kazim Adeoti, calling them mere “noise” from individuals whose personal lives may not be in order.

Speaking on Iriri Mi, a talk show hosted by Bimpe Akintunde, Aigbe addressed allegations that she had manipulated her husband, a father of four.

Unbothered by the criticism, the actress questioned why people were so invested in her personal life.

“That’s just noise. Look closely at those talking—how is their life? People only talk when you’re doing something good.

If you’re not known, you can’t be their topic. You have to be at the top to be a topic,” she stated, shutting down her detractors.

Aigbe, who has been in the industry for decades, emphasized that public scrutiny comes with success. She pointed out that many of those criticizing her choices may not have their own affairs in order, making their opinions irrelevant to her happiness.

During the interview, Aigbe also revealed that her family initially opposed her decision to remarry, particularly due to her age. However, she remained firm in her choice, knowing exactly what she wanted in life and love.

“I love love, actually. Even some family members asked me why I was getting married at almost 50, but everybody knows what they want. I know what I saw, and I know what I wanted.

I love to have a crown (husband) on my head and to be married. Maybe if I was still in my baby daddy’s house, I wouldn’t be known as Mercy Aigbe,” she stated.
