Authorities from the Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos have arrested Adura, the younger brother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, along with his friend Ibrahim Koleosho, also known as King White.
The arrest occurred on Wednesday, March 19, outside the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State.
The duo had attended a legal proceeding related to a phone they had sold to one Damola Ayinde.
Reports indicate that the arrest stemmed from a petition filed by actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi on December 13, 2024. Fabiyi alleged that Adura had initiated an Instagram chat claiming to possess video evidence of how Mohbad died and demanded ₦3 million in Bitcoin in exchange for the footage.
Adura, however, denied the allegations, insisting that the chat originated from Ayinde, to whom he had sold his phone. A forensic investigation has since been conducted, and the case remains under judicial review.

Following the arrest, Adura’s mother, Abosede, released an emotional video pleading for help in locating her son. In the viral clip, she accused Fabiyi and another individual, Sam Jojo, of orchestrating her son’s detention.
Speaking in Yoruba, she said, “Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him to. He asked them to take my son away. My son did nothing to them. They must not lay a hand on him; he is sick. Demola, you’ve put me in trouble. Mohbad’s spirit will fight you.”
In December, Adura had publicly demanded an apology from Fabiyi and Ayinde, alleging that his TikTok account had been hacked to tarnish his reputation. He subsequently filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against them for defamation, tampering with evidence, and making fraudulent claims implicating him in Mohbad’s death.
A family source confirmed that the arrest followed a heated exchange between Koleosho and Fabiyi regarding the phone controversy. “We don’t know Adura’s whereabouts, but his friend Koleosho was taken after the court proceedings. Everything happened so fast.
We heard there had been some words exchanged between Koleosho and Fabiyi, which may have led to the arrest. We have been trying to locate them.
”A police source later confirmed that both men were arrested by operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan. “Yes, they were arrested by officers from Zone 2, not the Lagos State Police Command.”
The case continues to unfold as the family and legal representatives seek answers regarding Adura’s location and the next steps in the investigation.
