Popular Nigerian singer, Okafor Uchenna Victor, better known by his stage name Mr Real, has leveled fresh allegations against his colleague, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj.
In a recent outburst, Mr Real claimed that his years of loyalty and service to the “Koko Master” yielded him little to nothing. According to him, despite working closely with D’banj for two years, all he benefited financially was just $500.
“D’banj ripped me. No be say allegedly, he did. Anything wey make me forget Banger I go leave am for my mama wey don die. You can’t be with a man for 2 years and only thing you gain is $500. What kind of wickedness, selfishness is that?” he lamented.
The “Legbegbe” crooner explained that during their time together, he had been showcased as an ambassador for D’banj’s CREAM brand. However, he alleged that he never received any real benefit from the role, despite several promises from D’banj.
Recounting further, Mr Real claimed that at one point, a car had allegedly been given to D’banj to hand over to him, but instead of doing so, the superstar parked it, fully aware that he himself did not own a car at the time. He expressed disappointment, insisting that the act was unfair and exploitative.
Mr Real stressed that his bitter experience with D’banj was not just about unfulfilled promises but a pattern of betrayal that left him sidelined and unrewarded.
This is not the first time Mr Real has publicly called out D’banj. In 2023, the singer accused the veteran musician of owing him money and failing to fulfill numerous financial pledges. He also insisted that D’banj had withheld his rightful share from the proceeds of their 2018 hit collaboration, “Issa Banger.”
The accusations, if true, paint a troubling picture of the relationship between the two stars, with Mr Real now openly declaring that he was “ripped off big time” by one of the industry’s biggest names.
