Nathaniel Bassey to Minister at U.S. President Donald Trump’s Inauguration

Renowned Nigerian gospel minister and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has been invited to minister at the prestigious U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.

This event precedes the swearing-in of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.

Hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner, the prayer breakfast is a non-political, faith-based gathering aimed at offering spiritual support for the U.S. government and presidency.

The event will take place at the Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom and will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including Dr. Alveda King and Pastor Mario Bramnick.

Nathaniel Bassey confirmed his participation via Instagram, expressing his excitement with the words, “Let’s raise a sound in America. See you on January 20, 2025.”

Widely celebrated for his music and ministry, Pastor Bassey is best known for the Hallelujah Challenge, an online worship movement that has garnered millions of participants worldwide.

In October 2024, the Mayor of Albany, New York, honored Bassey by designating October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day,” further solidifying his impact and influence in both religious and public spheres.

The U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast, which prioritizes prayer and worship, is expected to draw a diverse audience united in interceding for the nation’s leadership.

Pastor Nathaniel Bassey is a Nigerian gospel minister, worship leader, and songwriter renowned for his powerful worship anthems such as Imela and Olowogbogboro.

He launched the Hallelujah Challenge, a global online worship movement that has inspired millions across continents. In addition to his music ministry, Pastor Bassey serves as the lead pastor of The Oasis Church in Lagos, Nigeria.
