No African Defender is Better than Carragher, City Legend Reveals

Former Manchester City legend Joey Barton has claimed that African has never produced a defender better than Jamie Carragher. This comment comes after Jamie said the AFCON tournament is not a major trophy. Barton made the comments in support of Carragher, but this support is not encouraged by many.

Jamie Carragher has since clarified his comments, admitting that he was clumsy with his language, hence the support from Joey Barton is void. Speaking on a podcast, he said: “Can anybody out there, as much as all the Afrikanos have had a pop at Carragher for saying what he said.”
