It was a case of no striker no problem for Arsenal as they beat Leicester City despite having all their strikers out due to injury. The North London team closed up the gap between them and leaders Liverpool to four points. All thanks to substitute Mikel Merino who came off the bench to score two late goals to give Arsenal a 2-0 win.
Before the game many said the Gunners’ striker shortage would affect their game but Mikel Arteta had said he can use any player in the attack line. Mikel Merino came up in the second half and opened the scoring in the 81st-minute of the game.
The goal was created by 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri, who hit the woodwork twice in the second half. The second goal came just few minutes after the opener. The Spanish midfielder Merino struck in the second with just three minutes from stoppage time to wrap up the win.

It was tough on Leicester, who fought hard throughout and almost took the lead, only for Myles Lewis-Skelly to get a vital touch. The victory is a big sign of relief because of the shortage of strikers so every victory will be cherished more then anything.
Arsenal has Gabriel Jesus, Saka, Martinelli, and Kai Havert all out through injury and this players are the top strikers. So, its a good time for Mikel Merino to step up and fill in the gap.
