Actress Ekene Umenwa has shared a startling revelation about the intense spiritual pressure she faced early in her Nollywood career.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Umenwa recounted how she was advised by certain individuals within the industry to abandon her Christian faith in order to achieve success.
“When I came to Nollywood years ago, I was told by some folks, ‘drop this your Jesus and Mary and move with the flow so you can make it,’” she wrote.
Rather than give in to the demand, Umenwa said she ran back to her faith and found strength in her relationship with Jesus Christ. According to her, it was in her moments of confusion and despair that she received divine encouragement to remain focused and unwavering.

She shared how Jesus assured her:
“I am with you. Move. They will join us. Just concentrate and don’t look back so you won’t be distracted.”
Now a celebrated figure in the industry, the actress expressed gratitude that she stayed true to her beliefs. She noted that her journey has become an inspiration to others who may be struggling with similar spiritual compromises.
“Today, everyone now talks about Jesus and Mother Mary boldly. I am so happy that God never failed His own. He took me to the top and made me an example so His lost sons and daughters can believe,” she added passionately.
Umenwa concluded her message with praise: “JESUS IGWEEEEEEEEEEE! I was so moved that my noise made my parents run downstairs!”
