Controversial Nigerian preacher and self-acclaimed “Indaboski,” Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje, has revealed why he does not collect tithes in his church, distancing himself from the popular belief that churches are a source of income for pastors.
Speaking during a recent ministration, the Anambra-based cleric stated that his decision to become a pastor was never financially motivated. Instead, he said his true mission is to prove to people that God exists rather than collect tithe.
In his words:
“Look at a young fresh man like me. I’ll come here and be deceiving people? I no dey do church for money. Nobody pays me tithe. I am doing church to prove to you that Christ is real. That is my mission. When I finish my job, I leave the same way Prophet Emmanuel TB Joshua left…”
Odumeje’s comments have sparked reactions online, with many expressing admiration for his unique approach.
