Ola Aina Opens up on What he Wants for Nigeria

Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has opened up on what he wants for Nigeria. The former Chelsea and Fulham plays say his desire to win a trophy with the senior national team. The British born Nigerian star, who is part of the Nigerian squad that will play Libya in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, said this on an interview. Ola Aina said the current caliber of players in the Super Eagles team has the quality to face any team.

According to him, he said: “It’s a privilege to play for the Super Eagles. It’s a dream for a lot of Nigerians. To be selected is a privilege, so I’m always happy.” “I want to win a trophy with the national team, whatever trophy, World Cup or Africa Cup of Nations. I think winning a trophy with the Super Eagles and with this team that we have now will be the best thing.”

Ola Aina said it has always been his dream to lift a trophy for his country. Remember the last time Nigeria lifted a trophy was in 203/14. The trophy was the African Cup of Nations and Stephen Keshi was the head coach at that time. Aina was not yet in the squad at time so he is yet to lift a trophy for his country. Nigeria came close to lifting the trophy in the last Nations Cup which was hosted by Ivory Coast.

The tem however lost it to the host Ivory Coast. They are now on a campaign to secure another place in the 2025 African Cup of Nations with the hope to win it.
