France and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has been appointed as the new manager of Italian Serie A side Genoa. The 48-year-old who has managed one Premier League club and a few others in the Ligue joins the club which in 17th position in the Italian table.

Genoa is battling relegation already as only one point separates them from the relegation zoon. The former Crystal Palace manager, who left Strasbourg in July, succeeds ex-Italy striker Alberto Gilardino, who had been in charge since December 2022.
The appointment has now reunites Patrick Vieira with Mario Balotelli, who joined Genoa last month. Vieira managed his former Manchester City and Liverpool stariker at Ligue 1 side Nice during the 2018–19 season.
Mario Balotelli has since said it was disagreements with Vieira over tactics that led to his exit from the club in 2019. So, now are we going to be seeing the same thing play out is what fans are asking.
